Edible Native Plants presented by Rees Campbell
We are pleased to offer a session on Edible Native Plants presented by Rees Campbell, of Murnong Wild Food Garden, Wynyard. Rees is Tasmanian by birth and attitude. She is passionate about the island she was lucky enough to be born on; and its extraordinary places, creatures, plants and people which inspire her. This passion has led her to explore and write about Tasmania’s edible native larder, both on the land and in the sea. Rees wants knowledge shared, as this leads to valuing, care and conservation, so she and her husband Col travel around Tasmania promoting Tasmania’s edible native plants.
Rees will give a presentation on some of the wild food we have here, how to grow it in your own garden, what and how to harvest it… and most importantly, how to cook with it. Questions are welcomed. The presentation will be enhanced by plant and food samples to view and taste.
Rees’ books Eat MORE Wild Tasmanian, and The Seaweed Supplement will be available for sale, as will a small selection of her range of wild food inspired products… from Boronia Shortbread to Kangaroo Apple chutney.

Short CoursePaper Play
Have fun while learning, creating and contributing to a larger project with a series of workshops to develop the skills of manipulating paper and creating objects of art which will contribute to a large community project. This will culminate in a display at the Paranaple Centre in September as the opening act for the Paper on Skin event. Materials are supplied and participants will be recognised as part of the final display. New techniques will be presented at each session, so attendance at all sessions is not necessary.
